Remarks & Notes |
Fort Madison in the summer seems to be hot, humid and sticky...it was sure a great spot to sit back along the Mississippi and watch big time Santa Fe action in the 70's and 80's though. This eastbound coal load is lead by ultra rare U30CG 8000 along with U33C 8504 and a couple of rare U28CG's 7900 and 7908. A far cry from the passenger service that three of the units were intended for. But I felt fortunate to have even seen them in service let alone worry about the poor lighting/high humidity and the fact they were running out there last miles in coal service. |
