My grandmother was an artist her entire life, working as a fashion illustrator for some years before setting aside her career to raise a family. She continued to paint as a hobby, and her talents were passed on to her children -- a graphic illustrator, a photographer, a couple writers. After surviving some 90 years, experiencing a fulfilling and happy life, she passed away on the evening of Monday, May 27th, 2013.
Late in life, during the period of her work production that I best remember, Grandma focused on depicting flowers with Chinese brush painting techniques. This photo is my tribute to her, my thanks for spreading a legacy of artistic creativity throughout her family: Flowers bloom in front of the Snoqualmie Depot on a glorious spring morning. Rest in peace, Grandma -- you've earned it.
