Rolling Along the Middle Fork: BNSF No. 4344 leads Z-CHCPTL8-28 along the Middle Fork of the Flathead River on the Hi Line Subdivision. On the left side of the river is Glacier National Park. In 1964, six-miles of track through this area were destroyed in a massive flash flood and, according to locals, the water was so powerful that it pinned freight cars to the bottom of the river, which are still there today.
