Remarks & Notes |
16-car shinkansen N700 of JR West is racing through Maibara station with 270 km/h from Tokyo to Hakata on a NOZOMI service. In the foreground you can see the new guard rails, which are installed to help keep a train on the tracks in case of a severe earthquake. This guard rails are mainly installed in stations or in regions with a increased earthquake risk. see also http://www.jsme.or.jp/English/awards/awardn11-3.pdf and http://www.japantransport.com/seminar/JRCentral0111.pdf |
