Remarks & Notes |
Cresting the summit of Mullan Pass on Montana Rail Link a BNSF coal load destined for Centralia, WA exits the west portal at Blossburg while an eastbound coal empty waits patiently in the siding. MRL recently shortened Mullan Tunnel account their newly purchased EMD-SD70ace's were shutting down account they were choking on their own exhaust and starving for oxygen. Removing a tremendous amount rock and dirt the MRL moved the west portal eastward about 1000 feet so the new technology of the Ace's could breath easier while lifting westbound trains across the continental divide of the Rocky Mountains. |
