| Henry Ford renamed his 1858 Atlantic & Gulf 4-4-0 "The President" in 1929 when it hauled President Herbert Hoover to the museum's dedication ceremonies on October 21, 1929. Students of history, note the date. Three days later the stock market crashed on Black Thursday, leading the nation into the Great Depression and ruining Hoover's presidency. |
