Minutes before sunrise, a northbound Canadian Pacific freight train soars across the Seguin River trestle in the small town of Parry Sound, Ontario creating a nice silhouette. With a few blasts of the horn and a friendly wave from the crew, this was the start to a good day. Visiting the familys' annual mid-July cottage rental in the town of Burks Falls, nearly 70KM SW of Parry Sound, I decided to hit the road at 0445 to try my luck trackside. After making a quick stop at Timmies, with a Large coffee in hand and a perfectly timed northbound, things couldn't have been more satisfying. Thanks goes to RP contributor WD Shaw for extensive information on Parry Sound and suggesting this location for an early morning picture, as well as Travis Dewitz for some processing tips.
