The first annual evening photo shoot for the Southern California Chapter of the Railroad & Locomotive Historical Society took pace on Saturday, August 17th, 2013 as a benefit for the Society and as a farewell gesture to the lucky Big Boy that has been selected by the Union Pacific to be restored to operating condition. Over 40 photographers and guests were on hand to witness this historic event on what was a wonderful summer evening in Pomona Ca. Also included in the evenings activities were a second shoot with R&LH resident UP 9000, a unique piece of steam history in her own right. Future photo shoot are planned for other R&LHS historic steamers such as AT&SF 3450, plus the only surviving Southern Pacific three cylinder locomotive, the beautiful and unique 5021! Please check the R&LHS web site in the near future for additional details - Steve Crise Photo - Scrise.com.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
