Mainline Steam's Ab 663 hauls an excursion from Feilding to Woodville, through the Manawatu Gorge. Seen from the opposite side the train is about to enter the first tunnel. The line was built in the 1880s with hand tools. The train ran as part of the North Island Main Trunk Centennial celebrations.
Mainline Steam Heritage Trust operates steam specials throughout New Zealand from depots in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Each year an inter-island Steam Tour attracts fans from around the world. For more visit www.mainlinesteam.co.nz
