Remarks & Notes
Slowly moving northbound between Spruce and Greenland on April 15, 2005, is a large 745-ton Belleli vessel being shipped from Houston, Texas, to Denver, Colorado, using the “world’s largest railroad car,” Schnabel CEBX No. 800. The heavy load is going to a Commerce City oil refinery near Denver, and is specially-powered by brand new General Electric ES44DC No. 7687. Since this time, in mid-2012, Westinghouse has renumbered this car from CEBX 800 to WECX 800 and has added another Kasgro-built twin car to the Schnabel fleet, WECX 801, which now takes the title of largest railcar in the world. In the background is a snow-covered 14,110-foot Pikes Peak.
