Less than 1 year after the State of Michigan contracted the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay to operate the former Ann Arbor trackage in the state, the railroad began to repaint some of their reliable fleet of GP35's to help create a new image that would help ease customers thoughts of instability. One of the earliest to receive repainting was 389, here, it sits in the locomotive shops receiving some light servicing, and then would be run out into the daylight for the first time. 389 has since been deadlined in Owosso and is slowly being parted out to feed remaining GP35's 385, 390, 392, 393, and 394, 35mm slide from my collection, photo by Jack Smith.
