| An Australian in South Africa.....this ex-Queensland Railways class 2600 Goninan/GE U22C (rebuilt as C22-MMi) now belongs to African Rail & Traction Services (AR&TS) and has been leased to Sheltam to supplement their fleet on the Gold One system near Randfontein (previously Rand Uranium). The loco was overhauled in the AR&TS Pretoria workshops and painted in their blue livery, but has not yet received the characteristic white striping and lettering. Gold One's Cooke Plant, where gold and uranium is processed, can be seen across the valley. |
