Remarks & Notes |
Brick and Stainless Steel: The old weathered brick and the hardscrabble industrial area with twisty track could not contrast more with the stainless steel train and the a-building WTC #1 AKA "The Freedom Tower." One would expect some crummy old switcher and a couple of cars instead of this modern passenger train. This is some of the non-glamorous but essential backstage work that helps make my favorite city work. The LIRR train is pulling out of the Long Island City yard, crossing Borden Ave at a crawl and is heading to the Hunterspoint station behind the photographer for it's nightly load of weary commuters. |
