As BNSF train Q-LACNWO1-23K (Guaranteed Service Intermodal; Los Angeles CA - New Orleans LA) climbs Cajon Pass at Blue Cut, another BNSF train (Z-LACWSP9-26L, Priority UPS - LTL Intermodal; Los Angeles CA - Willow Springs IL, with ES44C4 6575 on the point) rounds the curve in the distance. Before the New Orleans-bound train clears the Swarthout Road grade crossing, the hotter UPS train will already be out of sight, having overtaken the longer, heavier, slower train.
