New Orleans Northeastern District (NO&NE) train #141 crosses Lake Pontchartrain, approaching the South Shore of the nearly 6-mile-long bridge, with about 7000 ft of train, 112 cars, bound for New Orleans from Birmingham, AL. The dark vertical line in the far distance on the right is "North Draw", the drawbridge that allows boats to pass through the bridge. Located about 5 miles to the northeast, it has already been fully raised to allow for marine traffic after the train's passage. Photo by Casey Thomason.
