Remarks & Notes |
Lycoming Valley SW9 239, in the Williamsport enginehouse for some minor paint touch-up, was built by EMD in November 1953 as Pittsburgh & Shawmut 239. In the mid-1970s this was the engine chosen by the P&S to receive a red, white and blue paint scheme and a temporary renumbering to 1776 for America's Bicentennial. (Note that this engine still has poling pockets in the stepwells.) Photo taken on railroad property with permission and wearing full PPE. |
