Remarks & Notes
Lycoming Valley SW9 239, in the Williamsport enginehouse for some minor paint touch-up, was built by EMD in November 1953 as Pittsburgh & Shawmut 239. In the mid-1970s this was the engine chosen by the P&S to receive a red, white and blue paint scheme and a temporary renumbering to 1776 for America's Bicentennial. (Note that this engine still has poling pockets in the stepwells.) Photo taken on railroad property with permission and wearing full PPE.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
