Remarks & Notes |
A shortage of pellets at Algoma Steel in Sault Ste. Marie ONT prompted the LS&I/Soo Line to run about 15 all rail pellet moves in the spring of 1979. These jobs operated with LS&I power and Soo hoppers/cabooses. Most trains were powered with LS&I U-boats but a couple of long nosed RSD15's also managed the trip into Sault Ste. Marie. The 2402,2501 have just dropped the ore train in the yard and are wedged into a service track in the Soo's cramped engine facility awaiting a rested crew and a train of empties to return to Marquette. |
