Local V33 crosses Big Stony Creek, arriving at timetable location "Kerns" - end of the Potts Valley Branch and limestone facility site. The crew will switch the plant, shove the loads across the creek, run around their train, and begin the return trip to Radford. At one time the N&W Potts Valley Branch extended approximately 39 miles along the VA/WV border to Paint Bank, VA. Today, only about 3.5 miles remain, providing service to Kimballton area facilities.
