Slumbering in Paradise Montana Rail Link’s Paradise Local slumbers the night away just across from the depot and “milepost 0” at Paradise, Montana, on September 22, 2006. The train, as well as the power, will soon be picked up by the Night Gas Local, as it is Friday and the locomotives go to Missoula on the weekend for servicing. MRL No. 651 started life as EJ&E SD9 No. 601 in 1957, but was later rebuilt by MRL into a “SD19-1.” The glowing neon signs and noisy voices drifting through the trees from the Pair A Dice Bar across the street lets everyone know it is Friday night and time for some fun.
