Remarks & Notes
Lunch stop! 628's 6701,6726,6707 have just cut off there loaded ore train on the main at Little Lake and are pulling down to the east switch. After backing into the siding to minimize the walk this crew is headed for beans at the Little Lake VFW. This became the lunch/dinner stop of choice in later years during the ore line Alco era as other Ma and Pop restaurants located in this sparsely populated part of Upper Michigan slowly disappeared. After dinner this crew will get back on the train wait for a westbound empty to clear and then head down the home stretch to Escanaba. In a couple of months the big Alco's will pull there last ore trains and the Little Lake meets will occur with a lot less drama.
