Remarks & Notes
Superliners in Shadyside? Due to severe weather-related train delays, Amtrak decided to annul Capitol Limited service between Pittsburgh and Washington DC today, opting instead to terminate eastbound 30 at Pittsburgh and turn the consist to become tonight's 29 bound for Chicago. In a rather unusual move, Amtrak 30 continued east on NS in order to access the Valley Industrial's wye at CP-HOME, rather than the customary Bloomfield Connection to former B&O trackage to Cumberland, Md. Also noteworthy is the somewhat rare P40DC on the head end.
