Dakota & Iowa GP-9's 23, 24 (both ex NP) lead a short southbound train of gondolas filled with rip-rap over the Big Sioux River bridge north of Hawarden, IA. Operating on former Milwaukee Road trackage, the train is pictured crossing the Iowa / South Dakota state line. The locomotives and the first six cars are shown in Iowa while the remaining cars are still in S. Dakota.
