UP 5882 and patched SP 6188 lead SATX coal empties north on the Austin sub past an abandoned barn near Rockdale, Texas. This is the former Missouri Pacific St. Louis to Laredo main line, originally the International & Great Northern. This view is possible only in winter due to the heavy overgrowth of the foliage most of the rest of the year, which blocks not only the train, but even the barn.
