Soo Line GP9s 2411 and 2408 rest between switching duties at Stevens Point, Wis., waiting for the next thunder storm. The 2411 features a "GP20" nose kit from EMD, but also has been retro fitted with smaller double windshields to replace its original GP20 style picture window. This is 1986 and in 15 months Steven Point would be ground zero for Wisconsin Central operations. The WC would build traffic well beyond Soo's traffic levels, and ultimately fold into CN.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
