Remarks & Notes |
The last train I will ever see from Silo Bridge crawls up Hicksville Hill with a single Gevo and a long train of scrap and steel. The thing made a terrific sound as it climbed and then picked up speed as the train crested. There were other trains coming but this was how I wanted to remember my absolute favorite railfan location. The Bridge is located between Hicksville, OH and St. Joe, IN on the CSX Garrett Sub and will be removed this week and not replaced, the road will be closed and one of the most amazing railfan locations in the area will be gone forever.. The 2 tracks are grade separated with the south track taking the higher and steeper route up the hill. |
