Remarks & Notes |
A scheduled Rovos Rail (The Pride Of Africa) luxury passenger train bound for Durban running down gradient behind Michaelhouse (a prestigious private boys school) in Balgowan in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. Although Rovos Rail have their own fleet of amazing vintage electric and steam locomotives, motive power is still generally supplied by Transnet Freight Rail for their scheduled trains to other regions within South Africa. In this case 18-187 & 18-257 were working the train. Various coach types made up the consist of this train, including some exquisite vintage clerestory roof stock, that have been beautifully restored and returned to main line service by Rovos Rail. |
