| The well known "Dirt Train Local" has spotted its inbound loads out of sight in the background and is now putting together its outbound train of empties. The SD40N #1595 is seen here backing up the lower yard leads to its final cut of empties. Grade here is 1.76%. The imposing Book Cliffs and the even higher Roan Cliffs tower over the scene. That ridge in the background is nearly 10,000 feet elevation. Next the train will leave the small yard and travel mostly west down the Sunnyside Sub. to the mainline connection with the Green River Sub. at Mounds. |
