| ARR 4327 has conquered the final 2% grade on this trip before it can coast downhill the rest of the way into Seward. This final push up hill is illustrated by how sharply the Seward Highway drops off to the right; the highway and tracks basically meet at grade less than 2.5 miles away. The Kenai Mountains in the background speak to the type of environments the Alaska Railroad tackles every day. |
