Remarks & Notes |
On an extremely warm late spring day in the Thompson River Canyon, a Canadian Pacific Railway merchandise freight rolls through Basque, BC. The ambient temperature was so warm on this particular day the Canadian National Railway on the opposite side of the Thompson River ran very little traffic account their line was suffering from Sun Kinks. Basque is also the location of a connector track between CPR & CNR in the event detours were required through the rugged and land slide prone Thompson and Fraser River Canyons. This era was well before the shared trackage agreement began between the two railways in the mid 1990's. |
