Its a busy morning at PRASA / Shosholoza Meyl's New Durban Yard, just north of Durban Station, with three mainline passenger trains in Durban for the weekend. The last "Daylight Sitter" service down from Johannesburg arrived early yesterday evening. The "Trans Natal" and "Premier Classe" both arrived this morning. Seen here is Class 6E1, E1394, who is still in Durban (the last remaining Class 6E1 in Durban), although she has not done any work in a while now and is expected to be dead hauled up to Johannesburg shortly and her future once there is still not certain. Behind E1394 are a few Class 18E units in both PRASA (Blue) and Shosholoza Meyl (Purple) liveries.
Photos taken in the Durban area, from the PRASA / Metrorail yards just North of Durban Station to Rossburgh Station including the Bayhead yards and along the Esplanade, Maydon Wharf and around Durban Harbour.
