| There are still pieces of history out there. An old Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railroad Class P-2 boxcar sits on United Taconite property as 3153 cubic feet of storage capacity or a storage shed for spare parts. Built in 1923 by the Am. Car & Fdy. Co. number 3300 was part of 57 others like it on the Missabe active roster until 1967. In September 1968 the 3300 was deemed "obsolete and beyond economical repair" and was retired. |
