Remarks & Notes |
D&RGW #5371 is seen here running out her last revenue miles on her former home rails. The light power has run east from Helper to the Wash siding where the small yard there serves as a staging area for cars for the Dirt Train Local. 5371 and mates will pick up loads here and then run east several miles to Mounds where they will make a left turn onto the Sunnyside Sub and proceed up the grade to the East Carbon Development landfill. They will swap loads for empties at ECDC and bring the empties back to Wash where they will drop them in the yard. Then it’s back to Helper and one last tie down there. This scene was taken from the Ridge Road overpass in Wellington, Utah. |
