Remarks & Notes |
On Christmas Day, while the Western world celebrates this holiday, the Japanese are going about their daily business. At Hamamatsucho station in Tokyo, a Yamanote Line train is arriving on Track 2, running counter-clockwise or "inner circle" (uchi-mawari in Japanese). The 34.5 km (21.4 miles) double track Yamanote Line follows a circular route around the city with 29 stations. Trains run 4 to 5 minutes apart in both directions. |
