Farewell to Number 4. After picking up patrons following a photo run-by at Fish Point, Monson #4 and her train resume their eastbound trek (compass west....go figure!) back toward the old Portland Company complex, which is the headquarters of the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company and Museum. The museum's trains run along a sort of "urban rail-trail" which is Portland's Eastern Promenade, a portion of which you can see in the foreground. The promenade is very popular during the summer months as a breezy, cool place to walk the dog or go for a run. There is even a nice little beach at the east end....or is it the west end? Anyway, with #4 going down for a boiler inspection, the folks in Portland are going to be missing their little steam engines for at least a while, until the museum finishes the restoration effort on Bridgton & Saco River #7, perhaps in 2015.
