Exactly on the day of the inauguration train 175 years before, for the celebration of the birthday of the first german long distance railway from Leipzig to Dresden, this brand new 8 car train ICE 407 715 (Siemens Velaro D) made a run with officials and guests on the line. Then, the line terminated in Dresden in the Leipziger Bahnhof on the other side of the Elbe river, Dresden main station was built decades later. Here the train is entering Dresden main station for the return run to Leipzig. This type of ICE train will never regularly run to Dresden.
