Remarks & Notes |
The driver of 01 0533-8 prepares to leave the bahnbetriebswerk at Bebra where the locomotive has been stabled overnight before working train D207 back to the DDR. The then new computerised number shows first the Baureihe or class '01' the next '0' indicates that it burns oil followed by the serial number '533' with finally '-8' is a computer check digit. As preserved this engine burns coal so has a '1' after the '01' to indicate the fact. The S 36 tells us it is a snellzuglokomotive with three driving axles and a total of 6 axles. The inverted triangle over the 20 indicates a 20 tonne axle load whilst the line over the triangle means the chimney height is the maximum the loading gauge will allow complete with a removable extension. |
