| UP 8121 & 7892 lead a westbound intermodal train. Forty-five minutes later a minor fire would break out. Gibbon, NE - A fire stopped a train near Gibbon for more than a half hour Saturday. Gibbon Volunteer Fire was called to Highway 30 and Ravenna Road around 6:45 p.m. Chief Kenny Smith said his crew saw flames coming from the side of the Union Pacific engine when they arrived. Smith said an air cleaner was plugged, causing the fire. Firefighters remained on scene for about a half hour before giving the westbound train the go-ahead. Maple Road was blocked to traffic during that time. |
