Remarks & Notes |
Unable to line the West switch Baring for the intended route, the dispatcher instructed the crew of BN 7027 West to take the switch on hand so the train could continue west. Hopefully this was one of very few delays between Chicago and the train's destination of Seattle. This is train # 3, formerly known as the Pacific Zip and is one of the hottest trains on the Burlington Northern on their northern route. Number 3 usually had the railroad's most reliable locomotives and was "powered up" allowing any engineer to "Giddy up" in short order. After all, this train had a schedule to keep and the shippers paid a premium for the expedited service. |
