Remarks & Notes |
The Glacier Discovery is an interesting train on the Alaska Railroad. It departs Anchorage and travels the branch to Whittier, departs Whittier and heads up the hill to Grandview to give access to the Chugach Mountains to all the hikers, then back to Whittier before departing to Anchorage to end the day. The Glacier Discovery is seen here along the Placer River near Spencer in an area only accessible by train or by foot in the summer time. |
