| CSX "GP38-2S" No.6355 stands in Fairburn, Georgia after the evening's torrential downpours. Several GP40-2s have been derated and demoted to local service and to save on fuel mechanical forces have cut the horsepower to 2000 and labeled the affected units as a GP38-2S. With a simple visit to a service location, then units can be turned back up to 3000hp and set back to their as built standards. CSXT 6355 was built as SCL 1645 in April 1972, 6355 still retains it's nose mounted headlight giving the unit a distinct Southeastern appearance. |
