Remarks & Notes
It's Friday the 13th, and it feels like it. A five hour late eastbound Empire Builder on the Prosper Sub rolls across the diamond with the KO Sub. Normally, the train would have hung a left here and headed east on the KO, but today it came straight across and headed for the Moorhead Sub. Due to a freight derailment at Elk River, MN, it will be detouring over the original Great Northern route via Breckenridge and Willmar to reach the Twin Cities. But before it can even leave town, it will have to sit on a run-around lead for a while because the crew will be dying on hours. The end of the train, three private cars, can be seen to the left of the locomotives.
