A Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts-chartered excursion was run from White River Junction to Newport, Vermont on Saturday June 14, used the Green Mountain Railroad's ex-Rutland veteran Alco RS-1 405 with the train consisting of VRS Office Car #4 "MacIntyre", and GMRC cars 1312, 1301, 1319, and the GMRC Cab Car 1317. The chartered passenger train is seen northbound on the South Bay of Lake Memphremagog at Coventry, VT, where the Barton River joins the lake. The train stopped just north of the bridge as the Central Maine & Quebec Railway trackage - essentially all yard trackage at Newport, Vermont - is currently FRA Excepted and passenger train operations were not permitted at time of the charter trip.
