Remarks & Notes |
The remaining rail routes that pass through the East Riding of Yorkshire to the coastal resorts are characterised by pleasant though rather featureless countryside. There are long stretches of straight, level track bordered by relatively inaccessible agricultural land. Finding a good curved section for more interesting photography proved to be something of a challenge. Accessing a decent vantage point on that curve turned out to be like a trip into the Amazon rain forest! So dense was the undergrowth that the only option was to walk about half a mile along the bed of a shallow stream that wended it's way lazily through the 'jungle'. Fortunately, the humidity meant a reasonable exhaust was on offer as 'Oliver Cromwell' raced by heading towards the seaside town of Bridlington. |
