| Reading and Northern's "Reading Turn" services Packaging Corporation of America at Tuckerton, PA. The Reading Turn operates daily (except Saturday) between Tamaqua and Norfolk Southern's Reading Yard. The two R&N Geeps have since been renumbered since this photo was taken; #2430 is now #2530 and #2438 is #2531. The renumbering reflects the Reading and Northern's standard of numbering their locomotives to reflect their respective horsepower rating. The two GP39RN's have been paired together for use on the "Mountain Job" (QAMC) and "Reading Turn" (QARG) during their testing period. The Geeps will likely remain on these jobs; being paired with the #2532 and #2533 once they are placed into revenue service. Lighting provided by Banks Photography. |
