On a typical blue sky winter day, three 18E's, with a fourth unit dead-in-tow, are approaching the N11 highway bridge near Ingogo with a train of empty jet fuel tankers from Johannesburg to Durban. The farmer who owns the land in the foreground has burnt a firebreak alongside the line, with more burnt grassland visible behind the train, a common sight in the dry winter months.
