Remarks & Notes |
Being a big fan of the Santa Fe and the second coming of the Warbonnet era in the early '90s, it's nice to still these weathered 'pinkbonnet' war wagons like the ATS&F 670 still hauling revenue heavy oil through upstate NY in 2014. Many of them were taken out of storage to handle the power shortages caused by the recent oil boom to many of the Class Ones that include both CSXT and BNSF. As the fog burns off, BNSF 670 and CP 9684(on lease to BNSF) edge past Smith's Landing alongside Route 9W for CP-102. The freight is trailing behind another big oil K068 on a busy morning of traffic on the upper River Sub. It will soon meet a northbound Q161 in Kingston with BNSF power as well.
