Remarks & Notes |
Looking down from the Tim Hortin's parking lot, MABA winds through Bangor. Once the site of a major Maine Central yard, today only a single track remains in the downtown Bangor waterfront area. In the place of the old yard is a park, and outdoor concert space across the tracks. One of the only signs left of Bangor's history as a major Maine rail point is this Mattawamkeag to Northern Maine Jct train's symbol: MABA. The "BA" is left over from when crews still reported to Bangor instead of NMJ. |
