This 0-6-0 Lima Locomotive Works engine was built in 1920 for the Union Pacific and operated in the Denver rail yards until 1949 when it was sold to the Laramie Valley Railroad. UP 4455 worked at the Monolith Portland Cement Company (near Laramie, Wyoming), where is hauled limestone between the quarry and the plant until retirement in 1970! It was donated to the Colorado Railroad Museum in 1972 where it awaits a thorough restoration. |
