CSXT train K185-01 (Toledo Docks-Middletown) is northbound on the Toledo Subdivision at intermediate signal 46.2. This profile retains the date of departure on the return leg, much like CSX coal trains off of the C&O to Michigan utilities used to. These trains are taconite in coal hoppers. You'll be fooled by the southbound loads unless you have a scanner or check the truck springs. AK Steel at Middletown, OH fired up their Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) to process taconite, providing a substantial amount of business for CSX. These trains run 6 or 7 times a week.
Of note is the fact that this train has a pair of YN2 AC4400CWs up front, an increasingly rare sight these days.
In the foreground we see the intermediate signals and double track mainline of the NS Dayton District at mp CJ 220. On a good day both railroads will throw several trains at you.
