Remarks & Notes |
Passing point on the dam (length 10 km) between Dagebüll on the mainland and the island Halligen Oland. There is no road and no ferry. The gauge is 900mm. The owner of this track is the Küstenschutz (Coast Gard). They work on the rail and the island every weekday. Early in the morning or in the evening the tourists can ride with this thing, but only when they spend the night on the island Oland. This is a very very special trip! And the residents drive to work with these cars. The comments to the sign on the left side you read below, the part Fuchsfalle (fox trap) you see on http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=500118&nseq=12 |
